Serie A

Olimpia Milano finalizing a multi-year deal to sign Italian point guard Andrea Cinciarini, source told Sportando. The decision came after the unexpected lack of Italian players in the roster due to the early termination of the contract with Daniel Hackett and the difficulties to reach an agreement with Nicolò Melli for a contract extension (he is still undecided).

Italian rules require 5 Italian players, 4 bosmans/cotonous and 3 extras. In this moment Milano has only Alessandro Gentile, Andrea Amato and Bruno Cerella (Andrea La Torre will be sent on loan), hence the decision to strenghten the team with an important Italian player. Milano will pay a buyout just above 100.000 euros to break his contract with the former team.

Cinciarini arrived in Milano today and will ink a multi-year deal (likely three-year) contract tomorrow. Last season he went very close to an incredbile national title with Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia, reaching 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game in Italian Serie A.

The season before he won Eurochallenge and named MVP of the Finals.
