Rolf Beyer says Bamberg will remain in BCL even if they will qualify for EuroLeague
Beyer: We decided for the BCL not for a short period of time, we made a medium-term deal (5 yrs). But it's important to say it is not a license, we still have to qualify though the BBL like all other teams
Brose Bamberg general manager Rolf Bayer said that the German powerhouse will remain in Basketball Champions League even if they will acquire again the rights to play in EuroLeague in the next five years.
Brose Bamberg will participate in the Basketball Champions League over the next five years based on satisfiable sporting qualification criteria.
Beyer was asked whether they stay even if they qualify for EL/EC:
"We decided for the BCL not for a short period of time, we made a medium-term deal (5 yrs). But it's important to say it is not a license, we still have to qualify though the BBL like all other teams. But I'm confident we can do that every year."
And from the beginning:
"We are convinced that the BCL will develop even more in the future. Also, several other 'big' clubs will follow us. We like that we are a welcomed and important piece of the competition which improves our long-term planning."
