Uli Hoeness: 'New arena for Bayern will be ready by 2020, we want to play in Euroleague'
The new arena won't be called Red Bull Arena
In an interview with Basketball.de, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness confirmed the deal with Red Bull to build a new arena for Bayern's basketball team. The new arena should be ready by 2020 and won't be called Red Bull, according to Hoeness.
"There's already a deal in place and if everything goes according to the plan, the new arena will be ready by 2020 and will have 11,500 seats. It won't be called Red Bull arena, I can tell you that," Hoeness said.
Hoeness also spoke about the future plans of Bayern Munich in Europe: 'Of course we want to play in Euroleague, we've opened a dialogue with Euroleague and we want to make business with them. With a new arena like the one we're building, we need to play against the best teams in Europe".
