BBL: Bamberg closes a great season with the final victory
Brose Baskets won again the title, 3-0 the final series against Ulm
Brose Baskets Bamberg is the 2016 Bundesliga champion, winning the title number 8, sixth in the last seven seasons. After an almost perfect regular season (31-1 record) the team of coach Trinchieri it was unbeatable during the post-season, with 9 victories in 9 games!
Bamberg won the series against S.Oliver and Bayern (+31 in game-3), across the other finalist Ulm surprised all during the playoffs race, after the seventh place in RS, reaching the final thanks to the victories against Oldenburg and Frankfurt.
Brose Baskets closed in 3 games the finals, wininng 92-65 the last match of this season. Ratiopharm played anyway a good series, with the great game-2 performance, when the champions was forced to the overtime (92-90 the final result).
After a great Euroleague season Bamberg built the repeat in BBL dragged by the seasonal MVP Brad Wanamaker (23+5+9 in game-2) and the Finals MVP Darius Miller (26 with 8/9 by 3 in game-1). Too strong the Brose Baskets, 2016 champion thanks also to the efforts of Zisis, Strelnieks, Melli, Theis and all the other players of the Italian coach. Ulm reached an unexpected final with an amazing Raymar Morgan, good work also for Rubit and Guenther in the series.
