Jan Span re-signs with Petrol Olimpija
The player remains in Ljubljana
We will have a chance to continue watching Jan Špan in the Petrol Olimpija jersey in the 2018/19 season as well. Span, who re-joined Petrol Olimpija ahead of the 2017/18 season, signed a new one-year agreement with the club.
After newcomers Jan Rebec and Miha Lapornik, as well as Dražen Bubnić, who extended the cooperation with the club, Petrol Olimpija has added another domestic player to its roster for the 2018/19 season. Jan Špan, who re-joined the Ljubljana squad ahead of the 2017/18 season and was one of the key players of the team, that has won 17th Slovenian National Championship trophy, signed a one-year contract with the club. Špan has previously played for the Dragons in the 2010/11, when he also won the Slovenian National Cup trophy.
Last season the 187 cm tall point guard was averaging 8.8 points and 2.2 assists per game in slightly more than 25 minutes that he spent on court in the ABA League.
Jan Špan stated as he agreed to continue with the Dragons: „I am glad that we got on the same page with Petrol Olimpija very soon after the end of the season. My wish is to bring the third straight National championship to Ljubljana, and to make some noise in the ABA League.“
