Union Olimpija Ljubljana signs Roko Badzim to a three-year contract
19-year old Badžim, who is playing at the point guard and shooting guard positions, averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the Croatian National Championship
Union Olimpija signed a 3-year contract with youngster Roko Badžim, who is coming to Ljubljana as a free agent from Baldekin, Šibenik. 19-year old Badžim, who is playing at the point guard and shooting guard positions, averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the Croatian National Championship. His father was is former Union Olimpija player Živko Badžim, who spent the 1990/91 season in Ljubljana.
“It is an exception honour for me to get an opportunity to play for such an eminent club as Union Olimpija. I am aware, that I am coming to the club, that has lots to offer to a young player. I am looking forward to the challenge and I hope that I would succeed in warranting the trust and expectations placed ahead of me,” Badžim enthusiastically commented on the new agreement.
Gašper Okorn, Union Olimpija head coach added: “We have brought to our squad one of the greatest prospects of Croatian baskertball. Of course, there will be a tougher and above all different role waiting for young Badžim, who used to play excellent for GKK Šibenik last season, in Ljubljana. However, he is aware of this fact.”
