12 teams from 5 countries will play in the new Alpe Adria Cup
The cup will start in October and finish in March
Twelve teams from five countries will play in the first edition of Alpe Adria Cup. The new cup will start on Wednesday, October 7.
As reported by Eurobasket.com, the teams will be divided into three groups of four. In the style of a round-robin tournament, each team will play other all three teams in their group both home and away.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best-placed third place teams advancing to the quarterfinals knock-out stage.
The 2016 Final-Four will be played March, 1 and 2, 2016 in Domzale, Slovenia. The official list of teams:
AUSTRIA (3): Gmunden Swans, Klosterneuburg Dukes, Traiskirchen Lions.
CROATIA (2): Kvarner 2010, Zagreb.
HUNGARY (2): Alba Fehervar, Kaposvari.
ITALY (2): Pallacanesto Trieste 2004, Treviso Basket.
SLOVENIA (3): Helios Suns, Rogaska, Zlatorog.
