Union Olimpija Ljubljana, Cedric Jackson part ways
The player leaves Ljubljana
BC Union Olimpija Ljubljana and Cedric Jackson agreed on mutual termination of the contract today. The player arrived to Ljubljana, Slovenia before the start of 2013/2014 season and signed one-year contract.
Jackson had a lot of problems with injuries during this season. He played below expectations and averaged only 5.9 points and 3.8 assists per game in EuroCup. In Adriatic League his average was only 4.3 points and 3 assists per game.
Matevž Zupančič, General Manager of Union Olimpija: "Jackson had a lot of bad luck with injuries during this season. Before we even started the season, he was out with an injury for a month, and few weeks ago same injury reoccurred. By our assessments the player will need a lot of time to get back in proper basketball shape, and due to the fact that we are heading already deep into the second part of the season, we agreed on mutual termination of the contract. Jackson was paid on time and we are satisfied that due to the mutual termination of the contract there were no additional costs for the club. "
