Miroslav Nikolic returns to Partizan Belgrade

He signed a three-year deal to coach the team

Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade has reunited with head coach Miroslav Nikolic after almost two decades apart. Partizan named the 61-year-old Nikolic as head coach for the next three seasons on Tuesday. He arrives from fellow Belgrade club Dinamik. Nikolic previously coached Partizan from 1996 to 1998. He also returns to the EuroCup for the third time in his coaching career after having led Hemofarm Vrsac and Radnicki Kragujevac, both of his native Serbia, in the competition. During his coaching career, Nikolic has guided the Serbian national team to the U20 European championship in 2006 and the U19 World Championship in 2007. He also served as an assistant to Zeljko Obradovic on the Yugoslav national team that won an Olympic silver medal in 1996 Olympic and gold medals at EuroBasket 1997 and the 1998 World Championships. He is currently an assistant to Sasha Djordjevic on the Serbian national team, which won respective silver medals at the 2014 Basketball World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games. Nikolic has coached more than a dozen other teams during his career, including Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica in Montenegro, Apollon in Greece, Avtodor Saratov in Russia.
