Partizan NIS Belgrade remains the only champion of Serbia
Partizan NIS has beaten Crvena zvezda Telekom for the 3rd time in Serbian Superleague finals on Saturday night and won the domestic championship trophy for 13th time and 8th since the independence of Serbia
It has been a close and nervous game, where Crvena zvezda Telekom managed to build themselves a 7-point lead no earlier than in the last quarter. However, Partizan fought back and after the home side got into foul trouble (no less than four of their players finished the game on the bench with 5 personal fouls), they managed to tie the game and take it to overtime, where they completely prevailed.
Bogdan Bogdanović was the hero of the new-old champions with 36 points on his account and has finished the finals with an amazing average of more than 31 points per game. For Crvena zvezda Telekom, Charles Jenkins had 16. Bogdan Bogdanović was also named the MVP of Serbian Superleague.
This is the 13th consecutive domestic championship title in a row for Partizan NIS and their 21st in entire history. Since the establishment of Serbian League, this is their 8th title and they remain the only team that managed to take the trophy in the independent Serbia.
