Unics Kazan agreed to terms with Mire Chatman
La PG firma in Russia
Russian club Unics Kazan closed on a contract today with Mire Chatman making themselves a great addition at point guard to their already impressive VTB and Euroleague qualification roster. For the last three season Mire Chatman has been arguably the best player in Turkey for both Besiktas and Karisyaka. In this past season, Chatman was 2nd in the Turkish Basketball League in scoring, 1st in assists, and 4th in steals. Chatman led the efficiency rating for all players in Turkey for two straight seasons while also being the second leading scorer in the Eurochallenge during the prior season. It is certainly true that Chatman has been notable everywhere he has gone in Europe. His career started in Latvia where he was the Latvian league MVP and won a Latvian championship. He went on to France where he was the French Pro A Guard of the Year with Pau Orthez and ranked #1 again as assist leader in his first season in the 2004-05 Euroleague. Chatman has also won a ULEB Cup Championship with Dynamo Moscow under the direction of legendary coach Dusan Ivkovic and played in the Italian League semi-finals.
