Unics Kazan lands Henry Domercant
Il giocatore ex Siena firma per due anni
A veteran bomber is back to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, as Unics announced the arrival of Henry Domercant, who inked a two-year deal with the reigning Eurocup champion on Thursday. Domercant (1.92 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Spartak St.Petersburg, where he averaged 15.7 points and 1.3 steals in 33 Russian League games last season. He helped Spartak make it to the EuroChallenge semifinals. Before that, Domercant helped Montepaschi win back-to-back Italian League and Italian Cup titles in his two seasons in Siena. Domercant boasts plenty of Euroleague experience from those two seasons with Montepaschi, two more with Efes Pilsen and another with Olympiacos. Despite reaching the Euroleague Quarterfinal Playoffs with three different teams, Domercant has never made it to the Final Four. He also starred with Dynamo Moscow, with whom he reached the ULEB Cup semifinals and was named the competition's regular season MVP in 2007-08. He led the ULEB Cup that season with 20.6 points per game, shooting an incredible 57.1% from downtown. Among the other highlights in his career are winning the 2005 Turkish League and the 2006 Turkish Cup and reaching the 2007 Greek League finals. Domercant played for Karsiyaka in Turkey in the 2003-04 season after a college basketball career at Eastern Illinois University, where he set school records in scoring with 27.9 points per game as a senior.
