Unics Kazan loses Popovic to injury

One of the top performers in the Eurocup, Unics Kazan guard Marko Popovic, will be sidelined for at least 2 months with a hand injury that will require surgery. Popovic left his team’s Russian League win on Saturday with the injury and further evaluation has determined that he will need to go under the knife. Popovic was off to a tremendous start to the season and ranked fifth in the Eurocup in scoring with 18.5 points per game, third with 7 assists per game and eighth with 2.5 steals per game.
