As announced by the club on Friday afternoon, CSKA Moscow star Viktor Khryapa, an All-Euroleague First Team forward and the Best Defender Trophy winner last season, will be sidelined again indefinitely with the same injury that saw him miss the start of the season. Khryapa (203, 28) injured his left ankle again in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague game against AJ Milano on Wednesday that CSKA lost by 71-65. That was just the second Euroleague appearance this season for Khryapa after a serious injury that had only allowed him to make his debut against Efes Pilsen in the regular season Week 5. He has played a total 45 minutes this season with 9 points and 11 rebounds. This is the same ankle that was damaged in August when the player was preparing the World Championship with Russia. Khryapa will undergo therapy on his ankle and the club doctors have not set a date for his return yet.
