CSKA Moscow re-signs Kyle Hines for two more years

The deal is official

Russia
EuroLeague powerhouse CSKA Moscow made a move to keep one of its core pieces with the team by extending the contract of big man Kyle Hines on Friday. A three-time EuroLeague champion, Hines (1.98 meters, 30 years old) has spent the past four seasons with CSKA. He helped the team make four consecutive EuroLeague Final Four appearances, including winning the 2016 title, and was named the 2016 EuroLeague Best Defender trophy winner. Hines originally arrived to the Russian capital in the summer of 2013 after winning back-to-back titles with Olympiacos Piraeus. His three EuroLeague titles are tied for the most among active players and he has six consecutive Final Four appearances, too. Hines averaged 8.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in the EuroLeague, including 2.1 on the offensive glass, without missing a game for CSKA last season. A veteran of seven seasons and 186 games played, Hines is ranked fifth on the EuroLeague all-time list with 386 offensive rebounds and sixth with 158 blocked shots. The undersized center started his career with second-division Italian team Prima Veroli and spent two seasons there before moving to Brose Bamberg of Germany, where he made his EuroLeague debut in the 2010-11 campaign. "I am really happy to remain with the club for another two seasons. Over the past four years, Moscow has become like a second home for me and my family," Hines said after the agreement. "I am looking forward to continuing the historical success the club has had in the past and working with my teammates, coaches and management to bring more championships for CSKA fans."
