BC Avtodor signs Michael Stockton

The player signed a one-year deal

Russia
Avtodor has signed a one-year deal with 27-years old American point guard Michael STOCKTON (185 cm, 81 kg), the son of legendary John Stockton.

Michael is a quick lefty pointguard who plays very effective by controlling the tempo of the game. He is a good ball-handler, able to handle full court pressure, is always responsible for a good ball-rotation in offense and is a nice passer. Stockton is a willing defender and very active rebounder for his size and position. Avtodor newcomer has an excellent feeling for the game and does well in "pick-'n-roll" situations because of his shot and ability to drive to the basket.

Michael's father is the World Basketball legend, Olympic champion (twice), NBA All-Star Game participant (10 times), All-NBA history leader on assists and steals, Basketball Hall of Fame member. Throughout his whole career from 1984 to 2003 he played for the only club Utah Jazz.

The career of Michael was not so brilliant in comparison with his "star" father's career. After he finished the Westminster university in 2011, the American playmaker has not been chosen at the NBA Draft. Michael has signed with BG Karlsruhe, ProA German club, where he played for two following seasons. Stockton played for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in Bundesleague from 2013 to 2015. Last season Michael played for Canton Charge, the NBA D-league club, together with another Avtodor newcomer Nick Minnerath. The communication between both players on the court in Canton Charge was perfect. In NBA D-league Stockton played 53 games where his average statistics were 8.5 points, 4.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals for 22.5 minutes. This summer the playmayker made another attempt to get into the best basketball league in the world by playing for NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers in the Summer League.
