The president of the Russian Basketball Federation, Andrei Kirilenko released other statements on Tuesday, a day after Eurocup unveiled the list of the teams for next Eurocup.
“The Russian Basketball Federation will not suspend any team on its own. But if FIBA demands that, we will be forced to make the required steps to protect the Russian National Team. Should FIBA apply any sanction, we will struggle for the national team, our clubs and national championship. Only FIBA can apply a ban on transfers of our clubs. For sure we want our teams to play in the top competitions and achieve the best results. And we want the same for the National Team” Kirilenko said, as reported by RSport.
