Manuchar Markoishvili, CSKA Moscow part ways
The Georgian forward leaves the Russian team
Forward Manuchar Markoishvili reached an agreement with CSKA Moscow to continue his career in the other team.
Georgian player joined CSKA last summer and expressed himself as one of the team’s key reserves. He played 42 games (10 starts) in red-and-blue uniform averaging 5.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 steals in 15.0 minutes, he was an integral part of the team which won the VTB United League and Russian Championship.
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:
The decision to split ways with Manu has only one reason – the necessity to have balance in between frontline and backcourt taking into account the limit on foreign players. In basketball sense Manuchar completely answered our expectations, and I have no regrets that we invited him to the team in 2014. First of all, because Manu showed himself as an amazing person, sincere, responsive, responsible, conscientious, and at the same time as tough, unyielding, reliable fighter on the floor. It is very said to say goodbye to our good friend, especially sad that we have to visit Tbilisi without him, but I am glad to wish Manuchar best of luck – I am sure that he has a lot of great victories in front of him.
