Khimki Moscow keep Paul Davis

The big man signs for one more year

Russia
Perennial Eurocup contender Khimki Moscow Region has kept its most productive player of the past two seasons, singing a new one-year contract with former All-Eurocup center Paul Davis on Wednesday. Davis (2.11 meters, 30 years old) has spent the past two seasons with Khimki, with the last being cut short by injury after only two weeks of the Last 32. He played in 8 games coming off the bench, but scored 7 times in double figures, for an average of 16.3 points to go along with 5.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 blocks. In his only previous season in the Eurocup, Davis helped Cajasol Seville of Spain reach the 2011 Eurocup final, in a season in which he put up 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals in just 21 minutes per game, allowing him to be chosen to the All-Eurocup second team. Among all Eurocup players that season, he ranked fourth in both scoring and performance index rating on a per-minute basis. In between these two Eurocup campaigns, Davis had his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut in 2012-13, posting 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks. Davis played university basketball at Michigan State and spent three NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers from 2006 to 2009, averaging 8.9 minutes, 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. He also briefly played in the NBA for Washington, in NBA Development League for Maine, and Xacobeo Obradoiro in Spain.
