Spartak SPB targeting Luca Banchi for the head coaching job?
Banchi is the head coach of Mens Sana Siena
According to Russian media, Spartak SPB is pursuing Luca Banchi as head coach for the coming season.
The Russian powerhouse is searching for a coach after the departure of Jure Zdovc.
Banchi is the head coach of Mens Sana Siena and took the helm of the team last summer after six seasons as assistant coach of Simone Pianigiani in Montepaschi.
This season Banchi won Italian Cup with Siena and almost reached the Euroleague Playoffs. Siena beat Milano in the quarterfinals in Serie A and won Game 1 of the semifinals in Varese.
Banchi is represented by Boris Gorenc, the same agent as Simone Pianigiani, who has a coach in Russia, Zoran Lukic in Samara.
