LKS Lodz brings in rookie Jermaine Mallet

Rookie Jermaine Mallet from Missouri State has signed his first professional contract overseas. The American Guard will play the upcoming season for the PLK Club LKS Sphinx Petrolinvest Lodz. Mallett was an All-Missouri Valley Conference second-team selection in 2010-11 and earned the 2011 MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award. He averaged 11.7 points, 6.0 rebounds per game, and shot 82.4% from the line for the 26-9 Bears who claimed their first ever MVC regular-season title. Mallett grabbed 27 steals and blocked 5 shots, but did the majority of his defensive damage on the boards where he collected 150 defensive rebounds on the season. He was selected to the 2011 collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Defensive All-America Team, the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference All-Defensive Team and the 2011 NABC All-District Team. His "baseline tomahawk jam" against Central Arkansas on Dec. 4 was selected as a nominee for the 2011 InterSport Dunk of the Year.
