CEZ Nymburk tabs three players
Lawrence, Palyza e Miklosik
Czech League champion CEZ Nymburk began loading up for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Round this week with three new additions to the roster: point guard Eugene Lawrence, forward Lukas Palyza and center Martin Miklosik. Each arrives from one of Nymburk's rivals in the Czech League. Lawrence (1.87 meters, 25 years old) averaged 10.6 points and 5.4 assists, second best in the competition, for Czech League runner-up Prostojev, where he played two seasons. He has also played professionally in Slovakia for Casta Nitra and collegiately for St. John's University. Palyza (2.04 meters, 21 years old) was a double-digit scorer the last two seasons for Ostrava, where he started playing on the first-division team as a 17-year-old. He averaged 12 points with solid shooting percentages across the board last season. Miklosik (2.26 meters, 24 years old) is one of the tallest centers in basketball, . His career has taken him from his native Slovakia to Austria, Serbia, Spain and the Czech Republic, where last season he ranked second in blocked shots (1.2 bpg.) while putting up 6 points and 4.3 rebounds on average.
