Lukoil secures three for the season

Lukoil Academic announced on Thursday three roster moves in order to start the season with the Eurocup Qualifying Round. There are two newcomers to the team, guard Dominic James (180,24) and forward Damjan Stojanovski (197,23), while forward Veselin Veselinov (201,27) agreed to a one-year contract extension with the club. James arrives from Mersin of the Turskih League, where last season he averaged 14.4 points, 2.7 boards, 4.2 assists and also ranked fifth overall in steals with 2.0 in over 29 games. James played college ball in Marquette from 2005 to 2009, and from there he did the preseason with the Milwuakee Bucks of the NBA before flying to Turkey. This will be his second pro season. Stojanovski arrives from Vardar Osiguruvanje Skopje of FYROM. Last season there, he averaged 17.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and also ranked fifth overall in steals with 1.5 in over 33 games. He grew up in KK Biseri of his native FYROM, and he spent two seasons in Vardar in the second division until 2007, when he moved to AMAK SP Ohrid. He stayed there two more seasons winning the FYROM Cup in 2009, before being back to Vardar, this time in first division, for the last campaign. Finally, Veselinov will stay one more season with Lukoil being his third straight campaign in the club. Last season he averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in the Bulgarian League. In his Eurocup debut in 2008-09, Veselinov averaged 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds. With Lukoil he has won the national league in his two seasons with the team.
