Lukoil has to pay 300.00 USD

After Lukoil Academic rennounced its participation in the Eurocup next season it became know that team was also convicted to pay more than 300,000 US dollars to two players. Those two players are Stevin Smith (186-G-72, agency: Interperformances, college: Arizona St.) and Nenad Djoric.

They left Bulgaria two years ago but didn't receive what they had to according to their contracts and started legal actions against the club. Lukoil Academic is now obligated by FIBA to pay more than 300,000 $ to the two players. From the team will appeal this decision in the International court in Lausanne.

The team has to pay Stevin Smith a total of 183,033 $, 168,833 is the amount he has to receive according his contract plus 5% tax on this sum. The compensation about for not fulfiling the contract is 5200 $ while the expenses about the lawyers are 9000 $ which also have to be paid by Academic.

Lukoil Academic was sanctioned to pay Djoric 96 537 $ plus 5% on this sum, 3 850 $ compensation and 1 500 $ expenses for the law case. The total amount the player has to receive is 101 887 $.
