LPB: Porto beats Benfica in game-4 and wins the title
FC Porto are the new Portugal champions
FC Porto won game-4 of the Finals, closing 3-1 the series and winning the title number 12 of own history. Benfica, the club with more successes in Portugal, lost after 4 consecutive championships, and the victory this year in SuperCup and National Cup.
The old champions, best team in regular season, stopped in post-season the run of Lusitania and Oliveirense (really hard 3-2 victory), across Porto was perfect against Vitoria SC and Ovarense. Benfica lost game-1 72-78 in a really balanced final series, after the defeat in game-2 Porto obtained two decisive victories, celebrating the title in 93-85 succes of game-4 under the eyes of their fans.
Troy DeVries dragged the team to the title with 22ppg during the season and 30 points in the really important game-1 away victory. Really great the contribution also from Tinsley and Washburn. Lisbon suffered the absence of Carlos Andrade, was not enough the efforts of Jeremiah Wilson, Ivica Radic and Daequan Cook (23ppg during the finals).
