Total League: Amicale Steinsel wins the title after 35 years
2-0 the final series against Musel Pikes, sixth Luxembourg championship for the club
Amicale Steinsel are the new Luxembourg champions thanks to the victory against Musel Pikes in the 2016 finals, winning the sixth title of own history after the last one in 1981.
The regular season champions (25-3 record) were perfect during playoffs, with the victory in semifinal against Etzella and the two decisive games won 88-69 and 86-83 during the finals. Musel Pikes was the surprise of the post-season, eliminating the 3-times champions of T71 Dudelange in the first round.
Amicale, after the defeat in 2015 finals, back to win the league thanks to the great season of Billy McDaniel, 22ppg and 13rpg with an amazing performance of 36+18 in game 1 of the finals. Not enough for the opponents the performances of Jamar Gulley for the finalist (25+9+3 during the season with 37 and 32 points in semifinal) and of Tom Schumacher for Dudelange (20ppg, 5rpg and 5apg in 30 total games).
