Third consecutive Macedonian title for MZT

MZT Skopje Aerodrom maintains the dominance in Macedonia, since on Tuesday night, they have beaten city rival Rabotnički in the 4th game of the domestic league finals and won their third consecutive national championship trophy.

The task, to repeat the success from the previous two years, was all but easy for MZT Skopje Aerodrom as the opponent in the final was the arch city rival Rabotnički, which has strengthened their squad before the beginning of Superleague. In the second game of the finals, MZT suffered their first defeat in more than a year in Macedonian championship, but it turned out that it was the only defeat of the season in domestic league.

The 4th final game, which turned out to be the decisive one, was tied up until the beginning of the last quarter, which the guests have won by 9 points, and came out victorious with the same margin. The final score was 88:79 and Gjorgji Čekovski was the top scorer with 19 points on his account, while Uroš Lučić added 16.

This is the 3rd consecutive domestic league title for MZT Skopje Aerodrom and also their 3rd in entire history. By winning this trophy they have completed their double crown this season, after winning the cup trophy previously during the season. Both trophies were won under the guidance of Slovenian tactician Zoran Martić.
