Romanian League market news

Alhaji Mohammed (guard, 1.92m, 32 years, Louisville, younger brother of Nazr Mohammed) - signed a contract extension with CSU Asesoft Ploiesti for the 2013/14 season. He came in february, and was one of the best players of his team on route to another national title. He played 22 games in Romanian National League, contributing 13.9 points, 3.6 rebouns, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals in 27.1 minutes/game. He started last season in Liga Endesa, at Valladolid.

William Franklin (poing guard, 1.83m, 28 years, Bradley) - signed a contract extension with CSM Oradea (3rd placed team in National Leagues at the end of the 2012/13 season). He came to Oradea in the summer of 2011. He had an ACL surgery in october 2011 and missed the 2011/12 season. He came back at the beggining ot the 2012/13 season and helped his team to its best finnish ever. In 40 games, Franklin had 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.4 steals in 31.7 minute per game.

Travis Bureau (forward, 2.00m, 25 years, Louisianna-Lafayette) and LeVar Seals (guard-forward, 1.95m, 31 years, De Paul) will stay with SCM U Craiova. Bureau played his first season professionally with this team, while Seals is in Romania from 2005, Craiova being his 5th team in this league.

The most important signing of the summer, at least so far, is Darius Hargrove (guard, 1.93m, 31 years, Virginia Union) to U Mobitelco Cluj. He left CSU Ploiesti during the 2012/13 season after playing 9 games (14.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals in 32.8 minutes). Hargrove won the Romanian championship three times during his career.

Anthony Lee Ingram (forward, 1.95m, 25 years, Brescia University) is the new player of BC Timisoara. He comes from Kumanovo (Macedonia). He also played in the Balkan League. Previously he played in Australia, Norway and Cyprus.

Finally, CSM Oradea signed Sean Denison (center, 2.11m, 28 years, Santa Clara) a Canadian center. He comes from Ataman (Russian Superleague). In 18 games he had 10.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 blocks pe game in 20.1 minute. Earlier in his career he played for Spartak Primorie Vladivostok, Eisbaren Bremenhaven and Tofas Bursa.
