Motejunas talks on Zalgiris' crisis

In an interview released at Delfi.lt, Paulis Motejunas, GM of Zalgiris Kaunas admitted that the Lithuanian club is facing serious financial troubles. Motejunas said that the debt of the club is around 20 millions of litas (less than 6 millions of euro). The debt is shared in four parts "to the banks, the players, former players and agents".

The GM added that the situation is "very bad" and the club risks bankruptcy. For the next year the budget will be no more than 10 millions of litas (around 3 millions of euro) so there is no chance to keep the jewels of the team as Kalnietis, Maciulis and Jankunas.

The target of the team is to reduce 1/3 of the debt before the beginning of next season even if "it is not any chance to do that".
