Vytautas' deal with Ball brothers includes opt-out clause after a month
Club's director confirmed he sees this deal as an opportunity to give the team more publicity
Adomas Kubilius, the director of Vytautas explained some of the details behind the deal with LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, who signed with the Lithuanian team last night.
"There is a clause to terminate the contract after a month, so it's more of an experiment at this stage," Kubilius told LKL.lt. "We committed to giving them opportunities in the Baltic Basketball League. We will have to see about the Betsafe LKL and whether they are good enough to play here."
The brothers are expected to show up in Lithuania on January 4 with their debut scheduled five days later in a home fixture against Tsmoki Minsk in the BBL.
Kubilius also took this deal as an opportunity to give the club more exposure. According to LKL.lt, the management of the Prienai side is now looking for American companies, who would be interested in becoming a jersey sponsor of the club for a fee of €50,000.
LaMelo Ball, 16, and LiAngelo Ball, 19, are the younger brothers of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, who was selected at No. 2 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
