Lietuvos Rytas signs playmaker Nicolas Laprovittola
Nicolas Laprovittola inks in Lithuania
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius found a new point guard, none other than Nicolas Laprovittola, who inked a one-deal on Saturday. Laprovittola (1.93 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, where he averaged 11.9 points and 5.7 assists in 39 Brazilian League games last season. He helped Flamengo win the Brazilian League title and lift the Intercontinental Cup trophy, downing Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. Laprovittola started his career with Lanus Buenos Aires in his native Argentina, joining Flamengo before the start of the 2013-14 season. He also helped Flamengo win the Brazilian League and the Liga Americas in 2014. Laprovittola is also a regular member of the Argentinian national team. He helped Argentina win the 2012 South American Championship, getting a bronze medal at the same tournament in 2014. He also got a bronze medal at the 2013 FIBA Americas tournament.
