Sarunas Jasikevicius was a once-in-a-generation personality with a list of accomplishments unmatched by any player in recent years. Saras won the Euroleague four times as the only player ever to become champion with three different clubs. He also took a combined nine national championships in five different countries after playing for a total of nine clubs in seven countries. And he led the Lithuanian national team to some of its greatest triumphs, including an Olympic medal and the 2003 EuroBasket title.

Now his fans can learn first-hand from Jasikevicius about his storied career with the release of his autobiography, Winning is Not Enough. Consistent with his great popularity throughout Europe, the book will initially be released in Italian, Lithuanian, Greek and English. Former Euroleague.net columnist and Italian journalist Pietro Scibetta collaborated with Jasikevicius on the book, which also features a foreword by Euroleague Basketball President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu.

Winning is Not Enough follows Saras’s thoughts as he enjoys his greatest basketball triumphs and suffers his toughest hardships. The book also reveals details from his private life. The book traces his basketball footsteps as a Zalgiris fan in the 1980s through his four seasons playing college basketball in the United States, his return to Europe, rise to greatness and three straight Euroleague crowns, his experience in the NBA, a fourth Euroleague title and the start of his second act as an assistant coach at Zalgiris Kaunas.

Winning is Not Enough is already on bookshelves in Italy, where it was published by add editore. The same publishing house will release the book in English as an e-book in July. MVPublications is the Greek-language publisher and Eugrimas is scheduled to release the Lithuanian edition in September.
