Lietuvos Rytas sign Milenko Tepic
The guard moves to Lithuania
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius signed former Euroleague champion Milenko Tepic to bolster the squad in hopes of returning to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague via the qualifying rounds. Tepic (2.02 meters, 26 years old) won the 2011 Euroleague crown with Panathinaikos. He arrives from Cajasol Seville, with whom he averaged 3.2 points and 1.5 assists in the Eurocup last season. The versatile guard tallied 3.9 points and 1.5 assists in the Spanish League.
Tepic grew up in the Vojvodina youth department before joining Partizan Belgrade prior to the 2006-07 season. He played three years for Partizan, during which he helped the club to three Serbian League and Adriatic League titles and a pair of Serbian Radivoj Korac Cups. He then spent two years with Panathinaikos, during which he won two Greek League crowns and the aforementioned Euroleague gold. He is a regular member of the Serbian national team, too. He helped Serbia to win the 2005 under-18 European Championships in Belgrade and to win back-to-back under-20 European Championships in 2006 and 2007. With the senior team he collected a silver medal at Eurobasket 2009.
