Zalgiris Kaunas in talks with Zouros. Lavrinovic twins will leave?
The Lithuanian powerhouse looking for the head coach
Paulius Motiejunas, general manager of Zalgiris Kaunas, talked about the status of the club in a press conference.
Motiejunas said that the budget of the club for next season will be around €4.34, of that, €1.45 will go to cover debts.
Zalgiris has debts for €6.2M (€5.2 for players, coaches & agents, €700,000 in taxes, €300,000 in loans).
Talking about the team for next season, the GM said that Zalgiris Kaunas is in talks with Ilias Zouros for the head coaching job.
"We met with Zouros in Treviso over the weekend. He'll make up his mind in two weeks. There are no other foreign candidates" said Motiejunas, as reported by Lithuania Basket. "The vision for the next 2-3 years is to have an ambitious and fighting team, with 3-4 foreigners & experienced coaches" added the General Manager.
Zalgiris will fight to reach the Euroleague Top 16, the VTB United League and to win LKL next season.
About the Lavrinovic twins: "Lavrinovic twins have deals but we'd need to take 10 school-level players to afford it. Looking for another team for them"
Adas Juskevicius and Robertas Javtokas have contracts for next year as well.
