VEF Riga hires Rimas Kurtinaitis as new head coach

Now it is official, Rimas Kurtinaitis is the new head coach of VEF Riga for the coming season with an option for a second year.

Kurtinaitis recently parted ways with Lietuvos Rytas with whom he won twice LKL, one Eurocup and one Baltic League.

The Vice President of the Latvian team, Valdis Valters, said that Kurtinaitis turned down a proposal from Budivelnik because he preferred to coach and live in Riga.
