Serbia and Latvia were voted as hosts of FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019, by the FIBA Europe Board on Saturday.
Serbia will organize two Group Phase pools in the cities of Nis and Zrenjanin and the Final Phase in Belgrade Arena.
Latvia will organize two Group Phase pools in Riga.
FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 will take place in the month of June. The Draw for the Qualifiers, which start in November 2017, will take place on July 4 in Munich.
During its session in the Czech capital, Prague, the Board heard presentations from Latvia, Russia and Serbia.
Russia and Serbia both presented strong candidacies for organizing the Group and Final Phase while Latvia and Israel were candidates for the Group Phase only. Israel withdrew their candidacy shortly before the meeting.
FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel commented: "The Board were very pleased to see that all hosting bids were of the highest quality and the presentations were prepared in a very professional manner. We would like to thank all three Federations for their excellent work."
