VEF Riga without problems in Final, 4-0 vs Ventspils for LBL championship
The fifth success in last 8 seasons for VEF Riga in Latvia
VEF Riga back to win the LBL championship, reaching for the 8th consecutive year the league finals. After the defeat of the last season against Valmiera no errors for Riga this time, with the clear 4-0 victory against Ventspils, like in 2015.
The VTB team (out in the playoff against Zenit) closed without defeats the Latvian post-season (3-0 vs the 2016 champions), with the perfect finals against the RS winner (27-5 record for Ventspils).
Riga won 78-69 the last game of the year, thanks to the 20pts of the Finals MVP Mareks Mejeris. Great things also from Blums and Kris for the men of coach Gailitis. Not enough for Ventspils the efforts of Janicenoks (out for game-4), Skele and Deane.
