LBL: Valmiera wins game-7 for first historical championship
Great victory in the final series against VEF Riga
Valmiera/Ordo won the first historical final of own history, beating 4-3 the 2015 champions of VEF Riga for the Aldaris LBL title.
After the 30-6 regular season, and the BBL semifinal, the new champions won 3-0 against Liepaja in semifinal, across VEF Riga passed the series against Ventspils winning 75-73 the decisive game-5.
After a lot of away victories Valmiera made history at home, winning 78-65 the last challenge of the season.
Arturs Berzins was voted as playoffs MVP for Valmiera, that reached the title thanks also to the help from Laksa, Mitchell and Armands/Aigars Skele. For Riga was not enough the performances of Cruz, Harrellson and Bostic, in addition to the contribution of the national players of coach Gailitis.
