Maccabi Tel Aviv tried to reach an agreement with Union Olimpija Ljubljana on Aron Baynes's buyout but the deal did not work out.

So, the Israeli powerhouse turned its attention to Darko Planinic from Siroki and is now close to penning a deal with the big man.
Planinic, born in 1990, is averaging 16.8ppg and 6.3rpg in Adratic League with the Bosnian team.
