Former eight year NBA forward Jumaine Jones recently became the most exciting baller to join the Holy Land basketball scene.

As Sportando exclusively reported, Jones signed a 1-year guaranteed contract with Israeli Bnei Herzliya, a low-budgeted organisation that specialises in luring current and former NBA players to join its forces.

The 6'8" 33-year-old Jones is expected to touch base on Israeli soil on August 30th, and is "very excited about the upcoming season," and is "looking forward to the opportunity of playing for a new city and new organisation in Bnei," Jones told Sportando in his first interview of the summer.

The 27th Pick in the 1999 NBA Draft was already familiarised with Bnei's player personnel and knows the team is looking to bounce back from its previous disappointing season.

"I'm coming to Israel to win," Jones said, assuring the team's supporters of his intentions.

Jones, the first sophomore in Georgia University history to score 1,000 points since Dominique Wilkins in 1981, entertained several Italian Seria A offers including a proposition from a French team, before deciding to take his talents to Israel.

"I will do whatever is necessary for Bnei to win (as many games possible). I'm all about winning, and I'm looking forward to the challenge," he added.

In 2007, Jones made his Europeam debut in Napoli, having an instant impact on the Italian league, averaging 17.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Jones' NBA resume also includes representing the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Bobcats, Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns.
