Alex Tyus to where? Cantu, MTA, ACB?
Il lungo ha da poco ottenuto il passaporto israeliano
Ex-Gator and Israeli Six Man of the Year Alex Tyus' future is still up in the air.
Maccabi Ashdod, Tyus' Israeli team of last season picked up its team option on the 6-foot-8 forward, forcing him to opt-out by July 15, using his $50,000 out clause.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, who is expected to sign Nik Caner-Medley is strongly considering Tyus, and asked his representatives to wait until next Monday before committing to another organization.
Why the wait? According to Sportando sources, in the past 48 hours, Tyus received an offer from Italian Pallacanestro Cantù, last season's Euroleague Cinderella. In addition, Tyus has an offer from Spanish ACB Ucam Murcia.
Tyus recently completed the process of converting to Judaism and - received his Israeli citizenship - becoming a member of the Israeli national team.
Cantù capped last season as the 3rd seeded Serie A team with a positive 21-11 record. Cantù also qualified for the Italian playoffs reaching the Q-finals round and the Top 16 in Euroleague action.
