Olimpia Milano and Fenerbahce pursuing Keith Langford
Sul giocatore del Maccabi anche il Fenerbahce Ulker
Israeli media recently reported that an agreement between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Keith Langford for next season is close to being finalized.
Well, is it? Think again.
Sportando was secretly informed via team sources that Maccabi's skeptic as to whether or not Langford will continue wearing the team's yellow-and-blue, simply because that on the table, Langford holds higher offers.
"We presented Keith with our best offer, but we're aware he has others we can't match," executive team source told Sportando.
Midseason last year, when signing with Maccabi, the two parties included a clause in Langford's contract stating that if he would re-sign, his value would be $1.1m.
While Maccabi recently offered the player a 1+1 deal, worth $800k next season and $100k compensation if the two part ways next summer, Sportando reveals that Euroleague teams Armani Milano and Fenerbahce Ulker, are offering the former Jayhawks guard a guaranteed deal estimated at well over $1m.
Langford, who's been recovering from reputation problems, recently clinched Adriatic League Final Four MVP honors, and has emerged into one of the most desirable scorers across Europe.
Hence, striking a deal with Italian Milano makes most sense for Langford, who would rejoin his former coach Scariolo Sergio. While the two may have had their differences in the past, behind closed doors, Scariolo expressed how impressed his was with Langford improvement on the court this season.
