Maccabi Tel Aviv, David Blatt agree to multi-year extension
Il coach rinnova per altre tre stagioni
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv announced Tuesday that head coach David Blatt agreed to terms on a multi-year extension to remain at the helm of the club. The deal is for two more seasons after this one with an option for a third year. Blatt, 52, is in his second reign as Maccabi coach. Thus far in his four seasons with Maccabi he has reached the Euroleague Final Four twice – including the title game last season – and won three Israeli League titles and four Israeli Cups.
"No one could be happier than me, this is an emotional moment," Blatt said in a statement released by the club. "Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv is dear to my heart and I am happy and proud to continue serving it. I thank the ownership and management for the faith they have in me. I am surrounded by people of the highest level, who allow me to lead the team to the highest heights we could dream of. Maccabi is a warm and wonderful family and I am proud to be a part of the excellent tradition of the club. I promise our fans that we will do everything possible to make you proud of us every day."
