Maccabi Haifa re-signs Jermaine Jackson

Jackson, 35, played 14 regular season games last season
with Maccabi Haifa, posting averages of 11.9 points, 5.9 assists (5th
best in the Israeli League) and 3.2 rebounds in 36 minutes.
During the best-of-five Relegation Round last season against Ashkelon, Jackson was a major factor in winning the series, averaging12.3 points, 8.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds in four games.

Prior to signing with Maccabi Haifa last season, Jackson played in the LNBP, Mexico’s top division, for the Lobos Grises de la UAD Durango, where he led the team into the first round of the playoffs, averaging 14.2 points, 8.0 assist, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 17 games.
The 6-foot-5 guard, a native of Detroit, M.I., played five seasons in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons (1999-00), Toronto Raptors (2001–02), Atlanta Hawks (2002-03), Toronto Raptors (2002-03), New York Knicks (2004-2005) and Milwaukee Bucks (2005-06), averaging 1.9 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 135 career games.
During the 2008-09 season, Jackson played for Snaidero Udine in SerieA, Italy’s top division, appearing in 10 games, where he averaged 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
Jackson has also played professionally in the CBA, Argentina, Ukraine, Spain and Greece, winning the Italian Nation Cup in 2004 with Benetton Teviso.
A four-year starter at the University of Detroit Mercy from 1995-99, Jackson became the first player in school history to record four 100+ assists seasons and just the fourth player in school history to amass more than 500 career assists, finishing with 509.
Jackson finished 14th all-time in school history in scoring with 1,341 career points and finished in the Top 10 in steals with 142.
Jackson joins a Maccabi Haifa roster that features former University of Virginia guard Sylven Landesberg,
former
NBA center and Boston College star Sean Williams, former University of South Carolina forward Carlos Powell, former Marshall University forward Tyler Wilkerson, former Dalhousie University guard Simon Farine, former NBA forward Qyntel Woods, and strong Israeli players including Avi Ben-Chimol, Daniel Aidan, Tamir Ariely, Sean Labanowski, and Guy Josipovich.
