End of an era for Maccabi Tel Aviv: Derrick Sharp retires

After 15 seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Derrick Sharp announced his retirement. The guard will be now assistant coach of David Blatt in the Yellows from Tel Aviv.

Sharp signed his first contract with Maccabi in the summer 1996 and with MTA won three times Euroleague and 11 times national league.

Sharp gave always his contribution to the team even in the last years when he was closer to 40 than 30.

The American guard who got also Israeli passport scored a three pointer in the last Euroleague Final Four in Barcelona, in the semifinal against Real Madrid.
