Maccabi Tel Aviv adds Milan Macvan

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has made official the signing of power forward Milan Macvan, one of the top young big men in world, to a contract that last through the 2014-15 season. Maccabi adds Macvan (206, 21) to a roster that already ties for the best record in the Euroleague so far this season. Macvan has played four seasons as a pro for Hemofarm Stada in his native Serbia. Macvan reached the Eurocup semifinals as a teenager in 2008-09, earning the Rising Star Trophy award that season in the same competition. So far this season, Macvan was averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds and 23 index rating for Hemofarm through five Eurocup games. Macvan has also been also a featured member of a golden generation of Serbian youth national teams that gold medals in European and World championships. He graduated to win a silver medal with the senior national team of Serbia at EuroBasket 2009 and to reach the semifinals of the World Championships last summer.
