Guy Goodes will be David Blatt’s Assistant Coach

Guy Goodes (39) has signed a one year contract as assistant coach of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. Goodes, who played for Maccabi for eight seasons, also served the club as assistant coach to former Maccabi head coaches Neven Spahja, Oded Katash and Zvika Sherf for two seasons (2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008). As a player with Maccabi, Goodes scored 707 points in Europe (number 25 on the list of all-time top scorers for the team). For the past two years Goodes has been the head coach of Hapoel Jerusalem.

Goodes, who will be beginning his eleventh season with Maccabi, said this morning (Tuesday): “I’m very happy to be returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv; it’s like home to me, I know it very well and no less important, it’s a club I love very much. I’ve had a long and wonderful experience with Maccabi so far. I’m going to give everything I have. I’m going to work hard, help David build something very special here, and help the team make achievements.”
