Hapoel Migdal adds Brian Randle and Moshe Mizrahi
Due importanti arrivi per la squadra israeliana
Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem retooled at the forward spots on Wednesday with a pair of signings of players with impressive resumes. Israeli final four MVP Brian Randle and former ULEB Cup winner Moshe Mizrahi join the club, while forward Sharon Shason was released. Randle signed a two-year contract. Mizrahi agreed to terms for one season. Randle (25, 203) arrives from Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon, where he won the Israeli League championships last season under head coach Oded Kattash, who will be his coach in Jerusalem too. Randle averaged 13.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game in the Israeli League last season, his second at Galil. Randle first made a name for himself playing college basketball at the University of Illinois before starting his professional career in the summer of 2008 with Galil. He was voted the Israeli League Defensive Player of the Year after his first season in which he helped Galil reach the league semifinals. Last season both Randle and Galil did even better as we earned a spot on the all-league team and helped Galil to its second championship with 19 points and 6 rebounds to stun Maccabi in the final.
Mizrahi (202, 30) was an important reserve player for Hapoel when it won the 2004 ULEB Cup. He arrives from Maccabi Haifa, where he averaged 6 points and 2.4 rebounds last season. Mizrahi has spent most of his professional career in Israel, growing up with Hapoel Holon, suiting up for Jerusalem between 2001 and 2004 and later for Galil Elyon, Ashkelon, Bnei Hasharon and Haifa. He also spent one season in France with Paris Levallois. A regular member of the Israeli national team, he played at EuroBasket in 2003, 2005 and 2009 and was a member of the silver-medal winning team at the Under-20 European Championships in 2000.
