Maccabi Haifa-Tyler: end of the story?
L'avventura del lungo sembra essere giunta al termine. Le dichiarazioni del suo agente in esclusiva da DraftExpress.
According to Israeli media, the adventure of Jeremy Tyler in Israel with Maccabi Haifa is close to having an end.
Maccabi asked to his agents to find him another team due to his poor behavior and lousy performances. Tyler, arrived from high school, landed in Israel with high expectations, as the new Brandon Jennings but he has not been able to show his skills in six months in Europe.
Tyler was seen by as a top pick in 2011 NBA Draft.
This is the statement released by Maccabi Haifa:
"Haifa won't cut Jeremy Tyler", they will "respect his contract" but they "won't stand in his way" if he's able to find another team .
Those are the words released by Tyler's agent Bryan Lee and reported by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress:
"This year was transition year for Jeremy, showing amount of work needed. Haifa was great to him. He didn't fully understand everything required of him going in.Worked really hard last 3-4 months.Better for the experience. Trying to figure things out for next year. Finish this year as best as he can. Possibly play in Adidas EuroCamp in June. Jeremy Tyler's next team? "I prefer European development model over D-League, in terms of practice time, support system, nutrition, etc. He will have European opportunities. Need to be selective of where he goes. Had a Euroleague offer. 2-year deals. Needs to play a little more. I see him staying in Europe, league similar to Israel, where he can contribute a bit more. I Don't see the D-League being a development league for players that weren't assigned by NBA teams. Maybe opinion changes in 3 months. Our is 2 year plan, with an eye on bigger picture, the NBA draft, and preparing him for that. Grew a lot as season moved on. Money is not most important thing right now. Took significantly less $ to go to Haifa. Felt more comfortable in Israel".
