Ironi Ramat-Gan hires Daniel Gutt as head coach
Gutt prende la guida della squadra israeliana
Ironi Ramat-Gan resolved the most important problem for the upcoming season. Yesterday the team announced that 44-year-old Daniel Gutt (agency: Gross Zeev ISA ) will take it over as head coach. Gutt most recently worked as an assistant coach and scout in Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Before that he also was assistant in Kyiv and Dynamo Moscow. From 2002 to 2004 he was a head coach of Maccabi Nethanya. Daniel Gutt (agency: Gross Zeev ISA ) had successful playing career with Maccabi Rishon, Givat Shmuel and Maccabi Natanya. In 1989 he was Israeli National Team member.
Interesting is that beside Israeli, Gutt also has Uruguayan passport as he was born in Montevideo. It is important to mention that he was an assistant coach of David Blatt in Russian national team in Beijing Olympic Games. Last season Daniel Gutt (agency: Gross Zeev ISA ) worked at Maccabi Tel Aviv as a Director of Scouting.
Ironi Ramat-Gan ended 08/09 regular season as No.9 with 8-14 record. The eighth ranked Ashkelon had the same numbers, but due to better score in two games vs Ramat-Gan they advanced to Playoff Quarterfinals. Anthony Myles was the best player of the team last season. Carmelo Lee and Mike Helms were behind him.
